Pinterest Home Trends for 2018

Pinterest has released a list of Top Trends for 2018. They give the top trends for several different categories according to pins last year. Per this list, the Home category grew 75% in 2017. I'm not surprised. I'm always pinning project ideas, big and small. It also says people who pin spend 27% more than people who don't. Go figure! There are projects I wouldn't have done if I didn't see them on Pinterest.

Resort-Inspired Style

Why go to the spa when you can create it at home?

Mixed Metallics

Mixing metallics can be fun and create an eclectic feel. Mix that brass and chrome. No more worrying about your light fixtures matching the faucet and handles in your space.

Hello, Terrazzo

A popular tile from the 70's is coming back.

The Fifth Wall

More people are adding texture to the ceiling. Whether it be paint, beams, or tile, take advantage of the extra wall.

Bone Inlay

This look gives a unique global flair. This will definitely be a piece your guests are sure to talk about.

Herringbone

This zigzag pattern makes a statement! It's a popular modern pattern used on floors and walls.

Statement Doors

I have always loved seeing houses with colorful doors. I was so excited to finally be able to paint my own front door red. Even changing the interior color of the door is growing. Most often that color is black or gray.

Patterned Plants

No longer are people just using green plants in their homes. Now the way to go is using plants with a pop of color or unique leaves.

Big Wall Art

Go big or go home as they always says. Large posters or prints are easy ways to fill a blank wall.

Neutral Sage

The light green color was a popular search last year. It is being called a neutral now since it pairs well with so many other colors.

I can really get with all these trends. Looks like I have a lot of work to do because I'll take one of each.

Are any of these trends in your home? Are there any you intend to add to your home this year?
